Atlético Madrid produced a dominant display to beat Sevilla 3-1 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, ending the hosts’ perfect start to the LaLiga season.
Atlético took control from the outset and opened the scoring inside four minutes. Lee Kang-in slipped Álex Baena through, and the midfielder calmly finished from a tight angle to put the visitors ahead.
Sevilla struggled to respond, with Robbie Ure heading narrowly wide of Jan Oblak’s goal before Kike Salas fired off target from distance. Atlético remained dangerous and doubled their advantage when Ademola Lookman squeezed a low effort inside the near post.
Oblak was called upon to deny Peque Fernández, but Atlético effectively settled the contest in the 33rd minute. Baena found space outside the box and fired through a crowd of players to score his second and make it 3-0.

Lookman thought he had added a fourth shortly after half-time, but his effort was ruled out for offside. Sevilla continued to search for a way back and eventually pulled one goal back in the 67th minute, with Miguel Sierra producing an acrobatic finish for his first goal for the club.
The hosts pushed forward in search of another, but Atlético remained dangerous on the counter. Pablo Barrios came close to restoring their three-goal cushion, only for Odysseas Vlachodimos to make an excellent save.
Atlético ultimately saw out a comfortable victory, despite surviving a late penalty appeal. The result sends Diego Simeone’s side to the top of the LaLiga table, at least temporarily, while Sevilla’s winning start comes to an abrupt end. Atlético have now won seven of their last 10 meetings with Sevilla.
