Degema domesticates Operation Sting

The Chairman of Degema Local Government Area, Tony Philmoore, has domesticated OPERATION STING, a security model first launched by Governor Wike late last month in Port Harcourt to further boost security in the area.

Inaugurating the newly domesticated outfit Tagged OPERATION STING – DELGA, the chairman said his adaptation would patrol the nooks and crannies of Degema Local Government Area with a view to protecting and securing lives and property.

He said OPERATION STING – DELGA was an ingenious remedy from the police area command to sustainably and effectively tackle insecurity in the area.

He added that his administration is committed to securing lives and property and would do whatever was necessary to achieve that.

ACP John Mark, Area Commander in charge of Asari-Toru, Akuku-Toru, Abua/Odual and Degema LGAs, said OPERATION STING – DELGA was a form of community policing employed by the police hierarchy to incorporate locals in securing communities since they were familiar with the population and geography of the locale.
