Abe vs INEC: Appeal Court reserves ruling.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt has reserved judgment in an appeal filed by Senator Magnus Abe and forty-one others against the All Progressive Congress, Patrick Tonye Cole and fifty-one others, and INEC.

Magnus Abe is asking the Court of Appeal to announce him and other aspirants that emerged through the direct primaries as the authentic candidates of the party for the 2019 general elections.

The three panel led by ALI GUMEL informed the parties that it will communicate them on a later date to pass judgment in the matter after the parties adopted all their arguments and responses.

The three-man panel also adjourned till 25th of February for hearing of pending motion and the substantive matter involving the All Progressive Congress against the Peoples Democratic Party and Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Our correspondent reports that the court ordered that hearing notice be served to all the parties on the next adjourned date.

Speaking to newsmen outside the courtroom, the Senator Representing Rivers South East at the National Assembly MAGNUS ABE insisted that there is only one valid primaries that were conducted by the All Progressives Congress in the state.

MAGNUS ABE said he is still confident of picking the APC ticket for the 2019 general election.

MAGNUS ABE also commiserated with the families of those that lost their lives during the APC presidential rally at the Adokiye Amaesimaka stadium on Tuesday.

He stated that the stampede was avoidable.

He stated that the overzealousness of the security agencies at the rally venue contributed to the stampede that led to the death of party faithful.

Magnus Abe also prayed for God to give the families of the lost ones to bear the loss,
