Senegal play 2-2 draw with Japan

The 2018 FIFA World Cup delivered on of the most thrilling matches as Japan and Senegal played out a 2-2 draw at the Ekaterinburg arena, Russia.

Senegal took the lead in the 10th minute after Japanese keeper Haraguchi punched a shot against Mané, who watched with glee as the ball rolled into the net.

Japan surged forward and their dominance was rewarded as speed star Takashi Inui curled a sweet right-footer past Senegalese keeper Ndiaye in the 33rd minute.

The second half was even more entertaining, as Japan matched Senegal’s pace and power with sublime skills and technique.

The Asians almost took the lead as Japanese marauder Inui again curled another beauty which beat Ndiaye but came off the cross bar.

And Senegal made them pay for it in the 70th minute as striker Niang dragged the ball behind himself with right-back Wague overlapping to absolutely smash the ball high into the goal in the 70th minute.

But Senegal blew it.

In the 78th minute goalie Ndiaye threw himself at a cross, completely missed it and then missed the next ball into the box with a desperate dive.

Substitute Keisuke Honda slotted into an empty net to get his 37th International goal and end the match 2-2.

Japan and Senegal are tied at the top their group with 4 points, with bottom sides Poland and Colombia clashing later on Sunday
