Union gives Police 48 hours to provide body of dead colleague.

National Union of road transport workers in Rivers State has given the Rivers State Police Command 48 hours to produce the body of the driver who was shot dead by a Police man on Sunday at Rumuokoro.

The Union gave the ultimatum after a meeting on Monday.

They said that the whereabouts of their colleague has remained unknown and maintained that the police knows about it and should provide the dead body for burial.

The driver, simply identified as Bright and hailed from Abia State, was shot dead on Sunday afternoon by a police man escorting a truck carrying frozen chicken.

According to eye witnesses, the killer police man claimed that the driver had blocked the truck he was escorting before shooting the driver on the neck.

However, the Rivers State Police Public relations officer, Nnamdi Omoni, claimed during an interview that the killer policeman is not a personnel under the command.

He, however, stated that the command will do all it can to apprehend the culprit.
