Be of Good Conduct, Ibas Tells NYSC Members During POP

The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd) Ibok-Ete Ibas, has charged corps members in the just-concluded 2025 Batch ‘A’ Stream II National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be of good conduct.

Out of 2,302 corps members, about 1,371 were females and 931 were males.

Ibas, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, on Tuesday at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Nonwa-Gbam in Tai Local Government Area, gave this charge during their passing out parade (POP).

The sole administrator encouraged the newly deployed corps members to employ all lessons acquired during the 21-day camp exercise as they begin their journey in serving their fatherland.

Speaking at the POP, Ibas told the corps members to always remember their responsibilities, urging them to serve selflessly and leave enduring legacies in their host communities and places of Primary Assignment.

He said, “Avoid acts that will tarnish the good image of the NYSC Scheme.”

“Integrate well in your host community and ensure that you respect their cultures and traditions,” he added.

Also speaking during the ceremony, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, encouraged the deployed corps members to “explore their passion, develop their skills and gain insights that will shape their future,” as they move forward to commence their service in their various places of Primary Assignment.

He further urged them to make use of the opportunity and birth positive impact around their environment.
