Davido Mocks Lawmaker’s Past Ritual Video in Clapback

Afrobeat star Davido has ridiculed the immediate past Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, following his contentious statement regarding Governor Ademola Adeleke’s recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu.

The incident comes just hours after Governor Adeleke visited the President on Tuesday amid the ongoing crisis surrounding local government elections in Osun State. Reports indicate that the state’s local government allocations have been withheld since February 2025 due to disputes between the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a surprising turn of events, President Tinubu hosted Governor Adeleke, his elder brother Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, and musician Davido in Lagos on Wednesday. This meeting fueled speculation about a potential defection deal between the President and the Osun governor.

Dismissing the rumors, Hon. Timothy Owoeye, during a press briefing in Osogbo, declared, “Adeleke family is not welcome in the APC. There is no space for PDP and Adeleke in APC.”

Responding to Owoeye’s comments on social media platform X, Davido sarcastically referenced a past scandal involving the former Speaker. The singer quipped, “No be this guy naked for bush?” This remark alludes to a 2018 incident where Owoeye was allegedly caught naked in a viral video, purportedly performing rituals in a bush at night.
