Leaders Urged to Imbibe Pope Francis Virtues

Leaders have been called to emulate Pope Francis’s exhibition of inclusivity in engaging the people to satisfy their needs. The Parish Priest of St. Clemence Catholic Church, Ozuoba, Reverend Father Nnamdi Ugorji, said this in an interview with journalists while he was speaking on the life and time of Late Pope Francis.

Reverend Father Ugorji described Pope Francis as a social justice crusader who championed the course of the less privileged in the society and campaigned for the preservation of the environment. He promoted interfaith dialogue. He moved about taking care of the poor in various ways and also migrants.

Another area Pope Francis thought about is the care of creation. Creation is not only human it includes nature. Today, we talk about climate change and its effects”, he said. Reverend Father Ugorji stated that the pope is meant to be laid to rest ten days after death, and then the Cardinals elect the next pontiff among them.

“Already Pope Francis’s burial has haen fixed for the 25th of this month, so by the 28th, the conclave takes effect a day or two we have another pope”, he noted. The clergy stressed that Pope Francis would be buried according to the instructions stated in his will.

“Nothing but what he had written as a will because every pope writes his will knowing fully well death is a reality. Immediately after the pope died, they locked up his apartment, got the will, and followed exactly as he had written it.

Francis is going to be buried at Cathedral Mary Major in Rome, not too far from the Vatican”, he emphasized. The Reverend Father of St. Clemence Catholic Church advised Christians to always prepare for the eternal destination while living on earth.
