A social commentator and security expect Mr. Lekan Ojo, has cautioned against incessant protests that could escalate and lead to a crisis in the state. He stated this on our live interactive program democratic platform, expressing skepticism about the effectiveness of ongoing protests in Rivers State, saying the government may not be moved to take action.
According to him, the protests may not yield any meaningful results, as the government seems not to care about the concerns being raised.Mr. Ojo suggest that a more strategic approach may be needed to address the concerns of the people in Rivers State, rather than relying solely on protests.

He believes that engaging with the President and other stakeholders may be a more effective way to resolve the issues at hand. He questioned the performance of the sole administrator in Rivers State, stating that there is little evidence of a positive impact on the lives of the people in Rivers State.
The experts expressed frustration with the sole administrator’s tenure, suggesting that he is more focused on personal gain than serving the state’s interests. Urging President Tinubu to reconsider the state of emergency and reinstate Governor Siminalayi Fubara after six months and also emphasized the need for Nigerians to understand the principles of democracy, implying that the current situation in Rivers State is a test of the country’s commitment to democratic governance.
