Rivers State Police Command Strengthens Security Ahead of Sallah Celebrations

The Rivers State Police Command has intensified security measures across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Units to enhance patrols, surveillance, and intelligence gathering.

These efforts aim to prevent potential security threats and safeguard residents and visitors before, during, and after the festivities.

Security deployments will cover prayer grounds, recreational centers, markets, motor parks, and other public spaces expected to witness large gatherings. Special attention will also be given to flashpoints, entry and exit points, major highways, and waterways to curb criminal activities and maintain public safety.

The Command has also activated a rapid response strategy, deploying patrol teams and undercover operatives to strategic locations. Collaboration with other security agencies and community stakeholders has been strengthened to ensure seamless intelligence sharing and coordination.
