The Rivers State House of Assembly has summoned the Chairman of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), retired Justice Adolphus Enebeli, to appear before the House by Monday, March 10, 2025, following the expiration of an earlier 48-hour ultimatum.

During its 132nd legislative sitting, presided over by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, the House granted Enebeli and his commissioners the benefit of the doubt. The motion, moved by Deputy Speaker Dumle Maol, was approved by a majority vote.

The Assembly warned that if the RSIEC chairman and commissioners fail to appear, Section 129 of the Constitution will be invoked, and a warrant of arrest will be issued.
