DREMOF Unveils Modern 150-Seater Lecture Hall at UNIPORT

In a significant stride towards academic excellence, the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has received a monumental gift from the Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji Foundation (DREMOF). The foundation has recently donated a state-of-the-art 150-seater lecture hall to the university, a move that is set to revolutionize the learning experience for students and faculty alike.

The unveiling ceremony, held on December 17, 2024, was a momentous occasion that drew together dignitaries, academics, students, and community members. The newly constructed lecture hall stands as a testament to DREMOF’s unwavering commitment to education and its dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders.

The 150-seater lecture hall is not just a physical structure; it is a symbol of hope, innovation, and academic excellence. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern amenities, the facility provides an ideal learning environment for students to engage with complex concepts and foster critical thinking skills.

Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, the visionary founder of DREMOF, expressed her profound satisfaction at the completion of this project. “This is more than just a building; it’s an investment in the future of our nation,” she stated. “We believe that education is the key to unlocking the full potential of our youth, and we are committed to providing them with the tools they need to succeed.”

The construction of the lecture hall was a collaborative effort between DREMOF and the University of Port Harcourt. Both institutions worked tirelessly to ensure that the facility met the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Professor Owunari Abraham Georgewill, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIPORT, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to DREMOF for their generous donation. He emphasized that the new lecture hall will significantly enhance the university’s academic infrastructure and provide students with a conducive learning environment.

“This state-of-the-art facility will undoubtedly inspire our students to reach new heights of academic achievement,” Professor Georgewill said. “We are grateful to DREMOF for their unwavering support and for their commitment to empowering our students.

The donation of the 150-seater lecture hall marks another significant milestone in DREMOF’s journey to transform lives through education. The foundation has a long history of supporting educational initiatives, including scholarships, infrastructure development, and faculty training programs.

As the world continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, it is imperative to equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in the 21st century. DREMOF’s commitment to education is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to a brighter future for generations to come.
