CP Uzuegbu Assures Chinedu Edeh Family Justice, Charge Deputy to Investigate Alleged Murder

Following the alleged shooting that led to the murder of a young man identified as Chinedu Edeh, the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Kanayo Uzuegbu assured the deceased family that justice would prevail.

He has directed his deputy to expedite the investigation and bring the perpetrator involved in the alleged killing of the young man.

The order was contained in a statement released yesterday by the police spokesperson, Daniel Ndukwe, as it was noted that the incident occurred at Echara Road, Nsukka, in Nsukka Local Government Area on June 23, 2024.

“The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, psc (+), has ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State CID to conduct a full-scale, thorough, and expeditious investigation to unravel the circumstances of the alleged shooting and murder of one Chinedu Edeh “m”, by a police officer at Echara Road, Nsukka, in Nsukka L.G.A., on June 23, 202,” Ndukwe stated.

Edeh was said to have been confirmed dead by the doctors at the hospital where he was taken to for treatment. It was gathered that the body had been taken to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Additionally, CP Uzuegbu urged the family to remain as security forces are on top of the matter. “He urges them to maintain calm, assuring that necessary police actions will be taken to ensure that justice prevails.”
