The Rivers State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed 18 commissioner designates.
The names of nominees were forwarded to the House by Governor Nyesom Wike on Monday.
The nominees were subsequently asked to appear before the House on Tuesday for screening by Clerk of the House, Stanford Oba.
Among the nominees is the former spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, Senibo Chris Finebone, who recently defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Others include Prof. Princewill Chike, Hon. Jacobson Nbina, Mr. Ndubuisi Okere, Barr.Mrs Inime Aguma, Engr. Charles Amadi, Mrs. Tonye Oniyinde Briggs, Mr. Ben Daminabo, Engr. Austin Ben Chioma, Mr Uchechukwu Nwafor, Dr. Fred Barivule Kpakol, Barr. Emenike Eke, Mr. Prince Ohia, Prof. Kaniye Ebeku, Mr. Ezekiel Agri, Mrs. Ukiel Oyaghiri, Hon. Damiete Herbert Horsfall and Hon Emeka Onowu.
Speaking after the screening exercise, the Speaker of the House, Ikuyi Ibani, called for vote by the lawmakers who unanimously voted for the confirmation of all the nominees.
