Police nab armed robbery suspect on wanted list in Bayelsa

The Bayelsa State Police Command says it has apprehended a notorious armed robbery suspect on the wanted list of the command for various armed robbery cases in Yenagoa and environs.

It was learnt that the suspect identified as 27-years-old Keme Azorobor, a native of Bomadi Local Government Area, Delta State was arrested by operatives of the Anti-kidnapping unit of the command.

A statement by the state Police spokesperson, SP Asinim Butswat, said the suspect was arrested during a clearance operation at Otiotio Road, Yenagoa on July 24 at about 2345 hours.

Butswat noted that the suspect has also confessed his involvement in various armed robbery cases perpetrated by he and other gang members, now at large.

He said a locally made pistol loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from the suspect.

The Police spokesperson also noted that investigations are ongoing to arrest his gang members and bring them to book.
