Two people have reportedly died after falling into a septic tank in Rumuekini community in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The victims believed to be a father, and his son died on Saturday while manually evacuating the content of the septic tank.
It was gathered that the duo had died due to the odour from the septic tank.
Eyewitnesses said the man started choking while inside the tank; however, his son, who went in to rescue him, died in the process.
The eyewitnesses said the smell of kerosene from the tank may have caused the death.
Meanwhile, the state police command is yet to issue a statement on the incident.
