Truck rams into students in Rivers, kills two

Two teenagers lost their lives on Tuesday after a truck rammed into them on their way back from school under the Isaac Boro flyover in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

It was gathered that the truck loaded with goods hit the male students while trying to reverse.

According to sources, the victims are believed to be from the same parents.

The truck driver was immediately handed over to the police for further investigations.

The corpses of the two students had been deposited in a mortuary.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner for Transportation, Osima Gina, who visited the scene of the incident condemned the unfortunate development.

He said that the truck is believed to have left the Warf before the occurrence while noting that a tow van would be used to move the vehicle to a safer place to avoid being looted by hoodlums.
