Police kill suspected robber in Rivers

The police in Bori, Khana local government area of Rivers State have shot dead a suspected robber for breaking into shops and students’ lodge in the area.

The hoodlum said to be notorious for breaking into shops was killed while dispossessing shop owners and students of their belongings on Thursday night.

Witnesses say the police was called while he was robbing a student lodge. He was shot dead while trying to escape capture.

Items recovered from him include a locally made handgun, a huge sum of money and other equipment used for breaking and entering.

Other items include cell phones and female handbags.

The police later took his lifeless body to a nearby mortuary.
