Assailants machete ex-NBA chair to death inside office

Ndieonyemah H. Nwankwo, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Owerri Branch, has been hacked to death by unknown gunmen inside his office.

Nwankwo was killed inside his office located at 43 School Road Owerri Imo State, on Saturday.

It was gathered that his killers used machetes to cut him on the back of his neck in a gruesome, execution-style murder.

Suspicion over his whereabouts grew after he left for work on Saturday but did not return.

The Imo State police command confirmed the incident.

SP Orlando Ikeokwu, the public relations officer of the command in a statement said the command received a report about the gruesome murder.

Ikeokwu said based on the report, operatives of the Command moved to the scene which is his office, and met the lifeless body of the lawyer with matchet cuts on his neck.

“Taking a further look around the office, a matchet with bloodstains, suspected to have been the matchet used in inflicting the cuts on him, was found on the floor.
