Tricycle operators popularly known as ‘Keke’ have blocked off the Mgbuchi area of Rukpoku in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers over the killing of their colleague by a police officer from the Rumuokoro Police station early on Thursday.
Eyewitnesses told theportcitynews that the police team took to their heels after an officer from the team shot the Keke Operator.
It was gathered that the deceased simply identified as School Boy was shot dead for his refusal to part with N100 bribe.
Residents blocked off the Rukpokwu junction and set bonfires, causing screeching traffic.
Keke Operators in the area said they took the remains of the deceased to the police station but encountered heavy shootings from the officers.
They added that the police shot two other persons on the leg who were subsequently evacuated to the hospital.
It was gathered that the Keke Operators dumped the body of deceased in front of the police station.
