Tricycle operators protest in Port Harcourt

Following the announcement by the Rivers State commissioner of transport, Osima Ginah that passengers who board commercial tricycles on major roads in Port Harcourt will be arrested, tricycle operators around Ada George area of Obio-Akpor Local government area have taken to the streets in protest leaving passengers stranded in the area.
Recall that yesterday, the Commissioner for Transport, Osima Ginah alleged the possible arrest of Passengers who board commercial tricycles on major roads in Port Harcourt.
He made this known when he led a team to enforce the ban of commercial tricycles on major roads in the city.

Some of the stranded commuters who spoke to our correspondent lamented hardship the ban on tricycle operations has caused.

They said it was insensitive of the government to ban operation of tricycles on major roads without providing the necessary alternatives.
