Breaking: PDP, Ogbeide-Ihama settle out of court

Tina Amanda

A federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has stood down the suit seeking for an interim injunction against the candidacy of Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki, filed by Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, a Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Ogbeide-Ihama is asking the court to compel the Party not to allow Governor Godwin Obaseki to participate in the already scheduled primary of the party.

Justice Emmanuel Obile stood down the suit for three hours after the Plaintiff’s Counsel, Ferdinand Orbih told the court to stand down the matter for Parties to settle outside the court.

Justice Obile mentioned to the parties involved that he does not stand down matters in court, but granted the request based on the urgency of the suit.

Ferdinand Orbih filed an application praying the court to give a standing order to enable the parties tidy up and resolve the matter amicably outside the judiciary process.

All the Defendants’ Counsels in the matter did not oppose to the application to settle out of court.
