Rivers Covid-19 taskforce arrests illegal entrants carrying fake pass

Rivers State COVID-19 Taskforce on Wednesday detained a trailer with its 8 occupants who were alleged to have entered the state illegally.

They were intercepted at Rumuigbo, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area.

The occupants were found hiding among the building materials the trailer was conveying into the state.

The interception was organised by members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria and the Ijaw Youths who alerted the COVID-19 Taskforce about the illegal entrants.

They were alleged to possess fake lockdown pass which had Governor Nyesom Wike’s forged signature on it.

Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government, Prince Solomon Eke, praised the youth and the task force for their vigilance.
