GOC extends hand of friendship to journalists in Rivers State

The newly deployed General Officer Commanding of the Nigerian Army, 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Major General Felix Ogugo has extended a hand of friendship to journalists in Rivers State.

At a get together media parley organised by the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army at the army Python officers mess in Port Harcourt, Maj. Gen. Ogugo expressed readiness to work with journalists at all times.
“Journalists are our friends and we need your cooperation to help us render better military services to the people.
“We called for this get together with you because we believe that you can understand us better if we have a close relationship.
“We will work out ways to ensure that we meet monthly for the purposes of maintaining a robust working relationship for the betterment of our society.
“We thank you all for honouring our invitation and hope that when next we call on you, we can be able to reach you, “the G.O.C said.
On his part, the state Chairman, Nigerian Union of Journalists, Job Stanley Job who led the media delegation thanked the G.O.C and his military team for the hand of cooperation they have extended to journalists.
The state NUJ chairman assured the army of Journalists’ legitimate media support and described the get together as a good move by the military.
