Xmas message: CAN tells Christians to practice love

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rivers State has called on Christmas to always make the teachings of Jesus real by demonstrating love.

The state chairman of CAN, Apostle (Dr) Stanley Dimkpa who said this in his Christmas message also congratulated the people of the state and asked God to bless the state and nation

His statement which was made available to our correspondent, read in part: “I therefore on behalf of myself, my dear family and, indeed, the Christian community in Rivers State, congratulate our dear Governor, His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Wike, his family and all Rivers sons and daughters.

“As we celebrate Christ this season, we must soberly reflect on the selfless life style and teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ which cumulated into showing love to one another and better service delivery.

“Such reflection, will no doubts, inspire and re-energize us for the challenges of a Christian that have one singular objective which is to make heaven.

“I wish to congratulate all our Christian brothers and sisters and indeed, the entire Christian community in Rivers State on the celebration of this year’s Christmas.

“May the celebration renew our friendship with Christ and promote the bonds of unity, love and peaceful co-existence in our state, which have always held us together as a people, united by a common destiny.

“May the reason of this celebration revive and reinvigorate our Christian life and make our state better.

“A state where our creed, tribe, political party and church do not matter in the scheme of things, but where equity, equality, qualification, truth and hard-work will be the necessary criteria and conditions for justice, promotion and appointment into all fields of life.

“Where reward for good morals will encourage everyone to abhor evil, cultism and focus on doing what is right (Rom 12:9).

“May the Almighty God continue to bless our state and nation, including her people in Jesus Mighty Name Amen

“Merry Christmas and glorious Happy New Year 2020.”
