OSPAC kills three in Etche, dumps bodies inside river

A vigilante group, ONELGA Security and Advisory Planning Committee (OSPAC) has killed three persons in Okomoko community, Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State and dumped their bodies inside Chokocho River.

Community sources told theportcitynews that the vigilante group invaded the community around 9:31 pm on Saturday, shooting sporadically leading the three deaths.

They added that a woman was also hit in the eye by a stray bullet while many others sustained several degrees of injuries.

One of the victims of the killing is a trader popularly known as Dagogo Nwalozie.

The sources said that the community is one of the most peaceful in the LGA, adding that the attack on the community was unwarranted.

One of the community leaders told theportcitynews that the community leadership has summoned all the villages and urged them to remain calm pending when findings will be concluded in the matter.

However, youths in the community have expressed anger over the killing despite the assurances by the community elders of their plans to get to the root of the matter.

They are blaming the LGA chairman, Obinna Anyanwu who reportedly invited the security group into the community.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the Rivers State Police Command did not respond to our enquiries for comments as at the time of filing this report.
