Consumer forum urges NERC to intervene on estimated billing

The Electricity Consumer Protection Forum (ECPF) has urged the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to intervene on the plight of indigenous entrepreneurs and industries which had been at the mercy of distribution companies on estimated billings

Addressing a press conference in Lagos, the convener of the Forum, Mr. Samuel Adeola said the fleecing of customers by the distribution companies with illegitimate bills which were not commensurate with the supply rate had called for concern.

Adeola said: “We at the ECPF call on the consumer unit of the NERC to wade into the plight of consumers affected by outrageous estimated billings as such occurrences are a clear cut travesty on indigenous entrepreneurial efforts to grow the Nigerian economy.”
