Anisza: Nigeria’s strength is in diversity – Isioro

As Nigerians from different endeavours joined in the celebration of Nigeria’s 59th Independence anniversary, the CEO of ANISZA, a Non-Governmental, Non-profit Organisation, Miss Novo Isioro, has stressed the need for Nigerians and corporate bodies to harness the country’s diversity for the benefit of the citizens.

ANISZA coined from the combination of words from Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, and depicting unity, is a Non-Governmental Organisation, committed to the promotion of national unity through the propagation of core values and cultural heritage of the different tribes.

Miss Isioro was speaking on Tuesday at the second edition of its Independence Day Photo Exhibition with the theme: ‘Celebrating the strength in our diversity, the strength of our togetherness’.

According to her, “there is so much that we have and share as a country that we are not taking advantage of, there is so much out there that we need to showcase and use in developing our country.

“Though we are a people of different tribes and backgrounds, our diversity is indeed our strength. Some of what we share in common can be seen in some of the photos we have on display.

“Through ANISZA we want to push this message of the strength of our togetherness especially amongst young Nigerians, that is why we are collaborating with schools and the NYSC, there is so much out there that we ought to promote,” she said.

The well-attended event featured a photo exhibition, fashion shows, spoken word and dance performances amongst others

Students from schools within and around the FCT, individuals and groups attended the event that has become a prominent feature in the Independence Day activity in the FCT.

The first edition in 2018 held on October 1 in Abuja as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 58th Independence Day anniversary.
