Just in: Another lady found strangled in a hotel in Rivers State

Another unidentified lady has been found strangled in a hotel in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of Rivers State.

The incident caused an uproar on social media on Friday as users posted the gory picture of the deceased whose hands and legs were bound with white clothes.

The deceased was reportedly killed on Thursday night in La Steph hotel in Omoku along Obor road, making it the third death in 10 days and 8th in a space of three months.

A staff of the hotel said they woke up to meet the body in the room, adding that the man who lodged with her had already disappeared.

He added that they reported the incident to the police who came and evacuated the body.

The recent killing comes amidst protests by female residents of Port Harcourt who are calling on the police to tackle the rising trend.

The police had also announced on Friday that its personnel had arrested suspected serial killers in Port Harcourt, a development many residents say was not enough.

The issue of killings of young women in Port Harcourt began in May with a lifeless body of a lady dumped at the popular Garrison roundabout.
