Ethiopian Airlines leaves Enugu, moves Port Harcourt

Owing to the decision of the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria to close down the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, flight operations of airlines operating in the region have been affected with airlines relocating to other airports.

The federal government had explained that the airport would be closed until further notice in order to carry out repair works on the runways.

Ethiopian Airlines which has been providing international flights to the airport has said it would be changing its location to continue its flight operation from September 3, 2019.

Chief Operating Officer, of Ethiopian Airways, Mesfin Tasew said the airline would be relocating to Port Harcourt International airport in Rivers State.

He said: “We have planned to shift the Enugu flight to Port Harcourt and we will start operations on September 3.

“We will continue operating from this airport until Enugu airport becomes ready. When Enugu is ready, we will go back to Enugu.”
