Man docked for raping 13-year-old boy in Port Harcourt

A 30 years old man Daniel Etolue has been arraigned before a magistrate court sitting at Rumuprikom in Obio/Akpor local government area of the state for sexually abusing a 13years old boy.

The suspect is alleged to have forcefully and sexually abused the boy inside a supermarket located in Dabo House, Rumuokwuta area of Portharcourt, on the 16th of June.

Daniel Etolue is facing a two-count charge of having carnal knowledge against the order of nature which is punishable under section 214 criminal code CAP 37 VOL 2 laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.

The presiding Senior Magistrate C.B Okekem adjourned the matter to 27th of June for ruling to determine whether the bail application by the defence counsel will be granted.

Counsel to the Plaintiff FIDA Antonia Osademe, told our reporter Tina Amanda, that FIDA will ensure that Justice is served for any sexual molestation committed against a child be it, boy or girl.

She said the public should pay close attention towards their boy and girl child, adding that homosexuality is a serious offence which is now a common practice in the society.

The Plaintiff’s Counsel stressed further that people should report cases of child molestation to the nearest police station or FIDA office, noting that FIDA is always ready to fight and get Justice for the helpless victims.
