A final year student of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Port Harcourt, Choba has been shot dead by unknown gunmen.
The deceased simply identified as Lanre was shot on the chest by the gunmen at about 9:30 pm on Friday night.
This comes as gun violence and cult-related killings are becoming a daily routine in Rivers State.
Theportcitynews gathered that the deceased who lived behind Obama Liquid Filling Station in Alakahia, was waylaid by the unknown gunmen, though it is not immediately clear the motive behind the killing .
Students who live in the area told theportcitynews that the killing sparked fear forcing some students to vacate their hostels that night.
Neighbours said police officers from the Choba police station came few minutes after the shooting and evacuated his dead body.
