DPR seals off filling stations in Port Harcourt

Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, has resumed sealing off filling stations for under dispensing or hoarding petrol in Rivers state.

This as queues resurfaced at filling stations in parts for the state for the third consecutive day as some filling stations have remained shut over alleged unavailability of products.

DPR’s Head of Downstream Department, Emmanuel Enwuchola, says that there is no fuel scarcity in the state as portrayed in some quarters and wondered why the filling stations were not opening or under-despensing products.

DPR said that the sealing-off exercise will continue in order to punish erring filling station owners in the state who are sparking off the panic buying, thereby making sure that those who are dispensing have long queues.
