INEC resumes day 2 collation of results in Rivers elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has resumed collation of results for the Rivers election which has entered day two.

INEC on Tuesday postponed collation of results to Wednesday.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Nyesom Wike was declared the winner of 13 out of 15 local government areas declared. This is against his closest rival, Awara Biakpomabo of the African Action Congress’ 2 local government areas.

At the close of work on Tuesday and with 15 LGAs declared, Wike was polling a total of 426, 279 votes against the AAC candidate’s 129, 328.
