The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says that full supplementary elections for the suspended governorship and house of assembly elections in Rivers will only hold in Abua/Odua and Gokana Local Government Areas.
This is contrary to the alleged five Local Government Areas as earlier speculated.
The commission stated this during a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
It also said supplementary elections will hold in Wards where the process were disrupted in other LGAs.
The commission also reiterated its earlier position that results of 17 local government areas have been collated adding that the timeline it earlier outlined will be strictly adhered to.
Stakeholders who attended the meeting include the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Usman Belel, members of Youth bodies, Security Agencies and other stakeholders.
