INEC promises free and fair elections in Rivers State

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has promised to conduct free and fair elections in Rivers State.

INEC made the declaration during a one-day enlightenment program on void votes organized by the National Orientation Agency, NOA, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The administrative officer in charge of INEC Rivers State, Mr Etem in commending the NOA State Director reiterated that INEC is prepared to conduct a free, fair and credible election in 2019.

He said INEC has put all in place to ensure credible elections, urging stakeholders in the state to support the commission in its resolve.

The State Director of NOA, Barr. Young Ayotamuno, in his remarks, urged the people to vote correctly in other to avoid void votes.

The State Director in outlining the various forms of electoral offences appealed to Heads of federal establishments in Rivers State to collaborate with NOA to spread the message of peaceful conduct of electorates, vote buying and selling during the general elections.
