Tina Amanda

Report reaching our desk says some youths in Kedere community in Gokana Local Government Area have gone on rampage and burnt down a coaster bus conveying journalists to an event put together by the Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project, HYPREP.

The HYPREP team had visited Kedere community this afternoon to introduce contractors
handling remediation of two contaminated sites in the community.

According to report, the youths are preventing HYPREP from carrying any remediation works in Kedere, claiming that HYPREP has not done scoping of the community.

HYPREP has denied the allegation saying youths of Kedere community chased away a team of scientist who came to scope the area.

Some electronic equipment
belonging to some journalists were also burnt in the coaster bus.
