Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Patrice Motsepe has congratulated Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, on reaching the final of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.
Motsepe is expected to travel to Rabat to watch Nigeria face Japan in Saturday’s final, November 7, as the Flamingos pursue their first-ever world title.
The CAF president expressed delight at the team’s impressive campaign, which has placed Nigeria on the brink of a historic achievement for the country and African football.
CAF has also called on all 54 member associations to support the Flamingos ahead of the decisive encounter against Japan.
Victory would make Nigeria the first African nation to win the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, giving the continent its maiden title in the competition.
The Flamingos will aim to complete their campaign with a historic triumph and bring the trophy home to Nigeria.
