President Bola Tinubu has nominated six executive directors for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), comprising three reappointments and three new nominees.
The nominees will serve five-year terms upon confirmation by the Senate.
The nominations were contained in a letter dated October 30, 2026, addressed to the Senate, according to a statement issued on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The three reappointed officials are Abiodun Adeniji, Executive Director of Finance and Accounts; Ogbugo Ukoha, Executive Director of Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Dr Mustapha Lamorde, Executive Director of Health, Safety, Environment and Community.

The new nominees are Mobolaji Musa, for Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ogechukwu Modie, for Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Said Abutalib, for Corporate Services and Administration.
Tinubu urged the Senate to consider the nominations expeditiously to ensure continuity and strengthen the authority’s regulatory oversight.
The President also approved the appointment of Jumoke Gafar as Secretary to the Board and Legal Adviser, subject to the completion of statutory procedures under Section 46 of the Petroleum Industry Act.
The appointments come months after Tinubu appointed Rabiu Umar as chief executive of the authority in April.
