The Rivers Women Unite Organization (RWUS) and the Central Planning Committee of the Women Converge have congratulated candidates unveiled by the Rainbow Coalition, while commending political leaders in Rivers State for their efforts towards peace and reconciliation.

The organisations made this known during their monthly prayer session in Port Harcourt on Thursday, October 29, 2026.
They commended Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, for their respective roles in promoting peace and reconciliation among political leaders in the state.
The women’s groups also expressed solidarity with Fubara, noting that they had consistently supported his decisions. They welcomed ongoing efforts to restore unity within the political family, describing reconciliation as essential to the state’s progress.

According to them, the renewed peace efforts are expected to foster unity, strengthen political cooperation and reduce tension ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, the organisations announced that the 2026 Women Converge would hold on November 26 at the Main Bowl of the Alfred Diete-Spiff Civic Centre in Port Harcourt.
The annual interfaith gathering, themed “The Woman in an Evolving World: Her Vision, Voice and Influence,” is expected to attract women from different backgrounds, religious leaders and other participants for prayers, praise, thanksgiving, reflection and fellowship.

Prominent ministers of God and gospel music artistes expected at the event include Rev. Prof. Mosy Madugba of the Ministers’ Prayer Network, Pastor Dr. Eno Jerry Eze of the Women Prayer Network, Minister Preye Odede and Chioma Jesus, among others.
The programme will also feature trade and skills exhibitions, as well as special recognition for individuals whose contributions have made significant impacts in society.
The organisers said the gathering would provide an opportunity to pray for peace, growth and development in Rivers State, Nigeria and families across the country.

They called on residents of Rivers State and people from other parts of the country to participate in the event, expressing optimism that it would promote faith, unity and a shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Rivers State.
