Nigerians have called for reconciliation between Afrobeats stars Davido and Wizkid after a video of Davido enjoying Wizkid’s hit song Ojuelegba at Zlatan Ibile’s wedding in Lagos went viral on social media.
The clip, recorded during the weekend ceremony, showed Davido vibing to the song despite the long-running rivalry often associated with the two music stars.
The video triggered reactions on X, where fans urged both singers to put their differences aside and consider working together musically.
Their rivalry has played out over the years through online exchanges, chart comparisons and clashes between their respective fan communities, popularly known as Wizkid FC and 30 Billion Gang (30BG).
While some social media users welcomed the moment as a possible sign of goodwill, others questioned whether the tension between the singers was as serious as it often appeared online.
One user, @Beejay_0822, wrote: “Make dem settle this beef abeg make dem give us better Gbedu abeg.”
Another user, @MustyFelix7, added: “I wish they settle their beef.”
A third commenter, @Amadi96123697, suggested that fans might be fuelling the rivalry, writing: “This men no really get issues na una wey be fans dey stress una selves.”
Meanwhile, @13Kobrex questioned whether the feud was genuine, saying: “My mind dey tell me say their beef na script aswr.”
Other fans expressed hope that the singers could rebuild their relationship and collaborate before bringing their careers to a close.
One user, @idarajune, wrote: “Really hope they resolve their issues and settle. The mutual admiration they had for each other was beautiful.”
Another commenter, @ShegunChelsea, urged both artistes to put their differences aside so fans could enjoy their music together.
The viral video has renewed discussion about the relationship between two of Afrobeats’ biggest stars. However, Davido’s reaction to the song does not in itself confirm any change in their relationship, and neither singer had announced a reconciliation in the account of the incident.
