The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) has said that there will be a 50 per cent reduction in the cost of breast cancer screening for women under 40 years old. This is part of the activities happening during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The discount includes mammograms and breast ultrasound scans. It will be available through October at the hospital’s Radiology Department.
The screening programme will take place from October 1 to 31, 2026, on weekdays.
The programme is meant to help women who’re in the eligible age group to get regular breast exams. It is also meant to help in finding breast cancer.

Breast cancer is a health issue. Finding it early can help with treatment. Can make it more likely that someone will get better.
The hospital is asking women to use the lower cost for screening and to check their breast health.
Women who want to take part in the programme can go to the Radiology Department of RSUTH during the time the offer’s active.
They can also call the department on 08037468629 or 08136913386 to get details and to make an appointment.
The hospital is asking women to make breast health important by having checks and to see a doctor if they notice anything strange in their breasts.
