According to him, “Miss Karibi-George is our idol, a strong bonding force for our youths and an encouragement to the younger generation.”

The Permanent Secretary also recalled the historic achievement of former Miss World, Agbani Darego, who became the first Nigerian to win the title 25 years ago, expressing optimism that Karibi-George could replicate the feat.
“Twenty-five years ago, Miss Agbani Darego won the coveted crown. Now, it is the time of Tamunosoye,” he said.
He urged Nigerians, particularly Rivers residents, to rally behind Karibi-George and support her campaign as she represents both Nigeria and Rivers State at the international pageant.
The statement was signed by Akiyata Anyanwu, Press Secretary, Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
