Leeds United and Brentford played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road, extending their run of four consecutive Premier League meetings without a winner.
Brentford, who were among the standout performers on the opening matchday, started brightly and dominated the early stages. Igor Thiago and Kevin Schade both came close inside the opening 10 minutes, while Leeds goalkeeper James Trafford produced important saves to keep the visitors at bay.
Leeds struggled to create clear chances in the first half and suffered another setback when Joe Rodon went off injured. Brentford eventually got the breakthrough just before half-time, with Schade producing a superb finish into the far corner after connecting with Keane Lewis-Potter’s inviting delivery.

Brentford continued to control proceedings after the restart, but Leeds gradually grew into the game. James Justin came close to an equaliser in the 64th minute when his low effort was turned around the post by Caoimhin Kelleher.
Dan James then missed a golden opportunity to level when he raced through on goal but lifted his effort over the crossbar.
Leeds eventually got their reward when Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted Lukas Nmecha’s cross-cum-shot from close range to make it 1-1.
Brentford almost restored their lead immediately, but Trafford denied Thiago at his near post, with the forward sending the rebound into the side netting.
Both sides pushed for a late winner and traded chances, but neither could find the decisive goal.
The result means Leeds and Brentford remain unbeaten, although the Bees missed the opportunity to win their opening two games of a top-flight season for the first time since the 1935/36 campaign.
