Actor and film director Ramsey Nouah has stated that personal discipline and consistency are necessary requirements for maintaining a long career in the entertainment industry, arguing that talent alone is insufficient.
In an interview published on Instagram on Tuesday, the 55-year-old filmmaker discussed his thirty years of experience in the film sector. He stated that members of the public frequently mistake fame for professional success without recognizing the labor required in film production.
”I’ve come to know and learn that talent is not enough. Discipline is what actually keeps you consistent when inspiration fails you,” Nouah said.
Nouah noted that external audiences generally see the visible aspects of celebrity status while ignoring the operational difficulties and efforts involved behind the scenes.
”A lot of people assume that success is like giving, but it’s not. They never see the work, the effort, the doubts and everything behind the scenes,” he said. “They usually don’t see it, and they always think that when you’re famous, you’re successful already. That’s what it means, that’s what it takes.”
When asked to compare the difficulty of achieving success with the difficulty of maintaining it, Nouah stated that repeated performance is more critical than a single achievement.
”Success is a given, but it can happen just once. Consistency is what really matters, consistency. And for you to be consistent, you need discipline,” he added.
