A modern Health Centre has been constructed by Obagi Oil Fields Host Communities Development Trust (Obagi-HCDT) in Obagi Community, located in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This initiative aimed at providing enhanced primary health care facilities and better access to quality healthcare services to the residents.
The health center was unveiled along with the reconstruction of a 2.6 km stretch of road during an unveiling ceremony attended by members of the community, stakeholders, and representatives of TotalEnergies Joint Venture.
Commenting on the project at the occasion, Executive Director, JV Asset, TotalEnergies, Engr. Imemba Obi lauded the efforts of the Board of Trustees and management of the Obagi-HCDT towards the execution of meaningful developmental projects.
The Trust, he said, had set itself apart as an exemplary HCDT in the country due to the standard and regularity of its projects.

Obi highlighted that the performance of the Obagi HCDT has been exceptional. It has become the standard bearer for other Host Communities Development Trusts by executing projects that really benefit the people.
High Chief Dike Hopeson Dike, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, referred to the project as “a promise made and a promise fulfilled.”
According to him, the Health Centre has been constructed using a high local content strategy that saw the involvement of more than 13 local vendors in the construction of the health centre to guarantee that the economic impact stays within the community.
Dike said the infrastructure we construct is one that not only provides services but also economic gains for local vendors and artisans.
He was also grateful to TotalEnergies Joint Venture for their continued support and participation in the commissioning process which has helped greatly in the development of the host communities of the Trust.
After the ceremony, the Trustees of the Trust, the TotalEnergies delegation and others went to the Ogbogu community for the Obagi-HCDT Annual Town Hall Meeting.
