A viral video circulating on social media has drawn attention to a reported deadly attack in Mbodo Community, Aluu, on the outskirts of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where no fewer than three police officers were allegedly killed by suspected gunmen.
According to information accompanying the video, the incident occurred at about 11 p.m. on Monday along Redeem Road. The officers were reportedly on routine patrol when they came under heavy gunfire from armed assailants.
The attackers were said to have shot and killed three officers before fleeing the scene.
The video, which has been widely shared across various social media platforms, purportedly shows the aftermath of the attack. However, the authenticity of the footage and the claims surrounding the incident have not been independently verified.

Residents of the community said the sound of sustained gunfire caused panic, forcing many people to remain indoors. They added that security personnel were later deployed to the area to evacuate the bodies of the slain officers and restore calm.
As of the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming the alleged attack. Efforts to obtain a response from the command were unsuccessful.
Authorities are expected to investigate the incident to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack, identify those responsible, and determine the motive behind the assault.
