Nigerian disc jockey, philanthropist and media personality, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola, popularly called DJ Cuppy, has opened up on why she can’t marry a Nigerian guy.
Speaking on a recent discussion, the billionaire heiress explained that her reason for choosing not to marry a Nigeria has largely been inspired by previous relationships, where she found herself questioning the intentions of some of the Nigerian men she dated.
According to Cuppy, the Nigerian men she dated seemed extra interested in connecting with her father rather than building a proper relationship with her, a scenerio that made her unsure whether he was just right for her.
She cited that such instances regularly made her wonder if those men were interested in her because of her personality and values or because of her own family wealth and status
Recalling the incident, Cuppy said, “I can never marry a Nigerian. It’s impossible. The last one I dated was asking me when he could meet my dad. I didn’t even think they liked me. My dad doesn’t even care who I marry; he just wants me to get married. That’s why I’m so happy for Temi and Eazi.”
The media personality’s comments has created online comments, with many social media users and fans sharing mixed reactions about her angle on relationships and marriage.
Cuppy, who is the daughter of Nigerian business man Femi Otedola, has previously spoken openly about her personal relationship challenges, including courting publicly.
