The pillars of Nigeria’s telecommunications ecosystem, which include the regulatory and digital infrastructure, are spearheaded by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Digital Realty, and IHS Nigeria.
These entities have united to provide substantial support for the forthcoming 2026 Nigeria DigitalSENSE Forum (NDSF) focused on Internet Governance for Development (IG4D) and its esteemed industry awards.
The annual high-level forum is set to take place this Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the distinguished Banquet Hall, Welcome Centre Hotels, Lagos, centering its discussions on the vital theme: “Sustaining WSIS Vision with Multistakeholder Synergy in Nigeria.”
Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the NCC, is scheduled to present the Keynote Address, emphasizing the regulatory framework necessary to uphold the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) vision through inclusive, multi-stakeholder collaborations.
IHS Nigeria, recognized as the nation’s leading digital infrastructure advocate with over 16,000 telecom towers and 15,000km of fiber optic cables nationwide, is collaborating with the regulatory commission to propel this initiative forward.
Together with Digital Realty, a leader in data center colocation, these organizations are strongly supporting the forum as part of their dedication to enhancing critical national infrastructure and advancing Nigeria’s digital potential.
In anticipation of the event in Lagos, Ogbuefi Remmy Nweke, the Editor-in-Chief of the hosting media organization ITREALMS Media Group, praised the significant institutional backing from both public and private sectors.
”To achieve sustainable internet governance and digital trust, a deliberate alignment of regulation and infrastructure is essential,” Nweke stated.
“The proactive partnership among the NCC, IHS Nigeria, and Digital Realty guarantees that the 2026 forum will transcend mere discussions to yield clear, actionable policy recommendations for our digital economy.”
