The Nigerian athlete and world record holder Tobi Amusan got her first Diamond League win of the season on Sunday, where she also broke her record in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League, she ran the hurdles in 12.28 seconds.
According to the report, Tobi Amusans winning time was equalled her season’s best of 12.28s, which she set at the Xiamen Diamond League last week. This is another top performance for her as she keeps getting better this season.
Having finished second in Xiamen, the Nigerian went one better in Rabat, crossing the line of Devynne Charlton came in second and Nadine Visser came in third.
Two weeks ago Tobi Amusans first Diamond League race of the season was not so good as she only came in third. The old record in Rabat was 12.45 seconds where she had set that record year.
The 29 years old Tobi Amusan won a title in Africa for the fourth time in a row and now she is getting ready for the end of the season and the Commonwealth Games. She has won the Diamond League title three times before and also hopes to win it again this season.
There are other athletes who are also doing very well, One of them is Masai Russell from America who ran the hurdles in 12.14 seconds which is very close to Tobi Amusans record.
Tobi has set the world record at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene in 2022. She ran the hurdles in 12.12 seconds and that was faster, than the record of 12.20 seconds.
Report has it that a year after setting the record Tobi Amusan had some problems and she was suspended for a while because she missed some important meetings, then she was allowed to compete again.
